 Katie grew up in the Kansas City area and was an outstanding distance runner. She attended college at the University of Southern Florida on a track scholarship and earned her degree in mass communications and public relations in 2000. She started with Northwestern Mutual through an internship during her senior year of college and has been a full-time Financial Representative since 2000.

Katie earned the New Rep of the Year Award as the leading 1st year producer. Her sales rank her among the Top 10 female representatives in the country. Katie has obtained the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) and the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC® ) designations.
 
In 2008 Katie became the Client Relations Coordinator for The RPS Financial Group.
 
She is married to Brian, and they have two daughters named Reese and Hayden. Katie has completed many marathons and continues to compete in many local races.

Ryan graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 2000. While earning a B.S. in economics and management, he played for the 1998 and 1999 Division II National Champions football team. He started with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network through an internship in the summer of 2000. He then began as a full-time Financial Representative later that same year.

Ryan has received many industry awards, including being the recipient of the National Quality Award (NAIFA) multiple times. He was ranked #3 in 2005-2006 for College Unit Director, and finished #8 for the Mike Gish Award for 2001-2002. This is a company award that tracks full-time representatives in their first year after their internship. Ryan has obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designation.
 
Ryan has served four years on the Special Neighbors, Inc. Board, one year as President and as Treasurer. He also has a little brother from the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of KC. Ryan currently serves as Vice-President for Heart of America Chapter of NAIFA. Ryan and his spouse Suzie currently reside north of the river and in his free time he enjoys playing golf.

John graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry and economics. He began his career with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in 2001 due to the encouragement of longtime Northwestern Mutual Financial Representative, Fred Goodwin.

Prior to Northwestern Mutual, John worked for a Financial Services Internet Firm and an Employment Database Firm. He focuses his business on a comprehensive fee-based planning process which includes estate and business planning, with the overall goal being to raise client’s level of financial security and help them reach financial independence. “Financial Security” means bringing clients a feeling of confidence that they will realize their financial goals through the actions they are taking today; actions that are based upon a holistic planning process integrating both insurance and investments. John holds licenses from several states including Series 6, 7, 63, and 65. He is also a past president of Financial Rep Association Board of Northwestern Mutual.

John resides in Mission Hills with his wife Kristin and children Sara, Johnny, and Catherine. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, running, and spending time with his family. He is a member of the Kansas City Country Club and the YMCA and Elite Squad Tennis. John is actively involved in his community: he serves as a Board Member of the Grace United Ministries Board (an inner city ministry), Past Chair of the Advisory Board of The Salvation Army-Kansas City, and Society of Fellows member of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Thane attended Kansas State University where he played football and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and financial services. He started with Northwestern Mutual in 2001 through an internship program. He has been a full time Financial Representative since 2002.

Thane focuses his business on financial planning to include, asset and income protection; education funding; retirement solutions; and investment/advisory services.

Born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri, Justin came to Springfield to be a student athlete at Missouri State University. Leading the basketball team as a captain in his senior year, Justin was honored with the Virgil Cheek Award (given to one senior male athlete across all sports, voted on by all the sports coaches and awarded to an individual who exemplifies leadership and character on and off the court/field).  Alongside this accomplishment, Justin completed two degrees that year – a B.S. in Sales and a B.S. in Marketing. It was during his last semester at MSU that Justin participated in the college program at Northwestern Mutual with the intent of making a career there.

The summer following graduation, he was a national Summer Lives Contest Qualifier. Justin converted to a full-time Financial Representative in August of 2010 upon achieving Power of 10.  In his first 6 months, he achieved Pacesetter 1st 40 and finished his first year by completing Pacesetter 2nd 60, an accomplishment of only 3% of all first year representatives.  At the end of Justin’s first agent’s year, he finished #3 in the Mike Gish Competition – an award amongst the cohort of all former interns that converted to full time.

Justin continues to lead having  taken on the position of Managing Director in the Springfield Office in 2013. In this position, he focuses on building his business while mentoring the full-time representatives and developing and growing the office as a whole.

In May of 2014, Justin married his wife Stephanie. Justin’s hobbies include: working out, golfing and watching movies.

Jim graduated from Cornell University in 1987 with a degree in business management and applied economics. He began his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1996 after being introduced to the company by an outside agent.

Jim’s areas of specialty include business and retirement planning, life and disability insurance, as well as long term care.
 
He is the recipient of the National Quality Award (NQA), the National Sales Achievement Award (NSAA), a Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), and the Winner’s Circle Award. Jim is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU® ), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC® ), and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
 
Jim is currently serving as membership chair for KCAIFA. In his free time he enjoys playing rugby and hunting. He played rugby for the Kansas City Blues for almost 20 years and represented Team America at the 2001 World Rugby Classic in Bermuda.

The CLU®  designation is the professional credential for persons involved in the protection, accumulation, preservation and distribution of the economic values of human life. For Financial Representatives such as Tom Lipscomb, as well as field managers, home office personnel and others involved in providing life insurance products to the public, the CLU®  designation is the common bond for continuing growth and commitment to professionalism.

Tom Lipscomb is active is his community, recently supporting the KU Marching Band Initiative and when the KU Endowment asked Tom Lipscomb why he support the organization, Tom Lipscomb replyed:  My first sense of community as a KU freshman was in the marching band. I want others to experience the thrill of being a part pf something extraordinary."

Matt is a graduate of University of Kansas where he earned his B.S. in accounting and business administration.  He began his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1998 as the director of Investment Services.  Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual, Matt was a CPA in a local consulting and auditing firm, practicing in the area of tax, estate planning, and business valuations.

Matt has been consistent Million Dollar round Table (MDRT) Qualifier and recognized member of the Northwestern Mutual MVP.  Matt also was a recipient of the John J. Foster award.  In 2010, he qualified for the Northwestern Mutual Forum.

Today, he has a comprehensive wealth management practice, focusing on wealth accumulation and retirement planning for families.  For businesses, Matt and his team of specialists provide solutions in the area executive and employee benefits.

Matt is involved in various charities and organizations, including University of Kansas Alumni Association, Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium, the Golf Club Investment Club, and he is also a member of Hallbrook Country Club of Leawood, Kansas.

Tracy graduated from Peru State University with a degree in accounting. She began her career with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in 1994 after being introduced to the industry by her father, who was a Representative with Northwestern Mutual. Tracy had a strong desire to have her own business and make a difference in people’s lives.

Tracy has earned the Pacesetter 1st 40 Award and went on to achieve her Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. She has been a consistent Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Qualifier. Tracy has obtained the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), the Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL) designations and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®)  certification.
 
Today she has a very strong, diversified practice of insurance and investment products, and is one of the Investment Specialists in The RPS Financial Group.

John is originally from the small farming town of Slater, MO (pop. 1,850 and home of former NBA player Joe Kleine and actor Steve McQueen).  He received a degree in Economics from Boston College and also met his wife there.  John began his career with another financial services firm and joined Northwestern Mutual in July of 1994.

John has qualified for the NM Forum in 2010, NMIS MVP in 2006-2008, MDRT in 1999 and 2001-2007, National Quality Award in 2000-2006 and 2008-2010, and is one of only 220 advisors in NM’s Fee-Based Financial Planning Program.  He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA®) and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).

He is married to Susan and they have two daughters, Nelle and Isabella.  When not working, his hobbies include coaching youth sports, spending time with family, travel, cooking, food & wine, sports and fishing.  John and his family are parishioners at the Church of the Nativity and are members of Blue Hills Country Club.

Tom is a Wealth Management Advisor with the Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company. Tom is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has been with Northwestern Mutual since March of 1990. Tom is a CLU and ChFC and earned his CFP certification in March of 2004. Prior to his association with Northwestern Mutual he was involved in various entrepreneurial endeavors and businesses.  Jim was born in Mount Vernon, NY.   He graduated in 1962 from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD. He served on active duty with Naval Aircraft Squadrons on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. After leaving active duty in 1968 and affiliating with the Naval Air Reserves, enjoyed promotions and commands, retiring as a Captain in 1985.

Jim spent 28 years flying for TWA and retired in March of 1995. During this period of service, Jim flew as a pilot, instructed at the TWA training centers and represented the Airline Pilots Association in the areas of insurance and retirement matters.
 
Coinciding with the above activities, Jim formed an insurance business which he has headed up for 35 years working with successful business owners as well as professionals in the maximization of their net worth. He is licensed in 17 states for the placement of insurance and equity products. His industry recognitions include the National Quality Award, Health Insurance Quality Award, National Sales Achievement Award, Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and consistent member of the Court of the Table.   Professional and personal affiliations include Business Executives for National Security, TEC Advisory Group and the Association for Retarded Citizens.

Chad started his career with Mass Mutual in 2007.  He was named Rising Leader his 1stand 3rdyear and in 2009 was a leader conference qualifier.  In 2011, he led the local agency with 91 lives and was the #1 4thyear advisor in the entire company.

In 2011, Chad made the decision to move companies and began his career with Northwestern Mutual.  Within his first 6 months he achieved Pacesetter 40 and set a new agency record with 73.5 lives.  In addition to his practice, Chad maintains a leadership role as a Field Director for the Leawood Office, mentoring new financial representatives. Chad has obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation.

Kyle is the College Unit Director in the Leawood office and is a member of the RPS Financial Group’s Leadership Development Group (LEAD).

Kristin is a native of St. Louis, where her parents and brother and sister-in-law still reside. She began her career with Northwestern Mutual as an intern in 2009 and converted to full-time upon graduating from Taylor University in May 2010. Kristin attained a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Marketing there and she also played all 4 years for the Taylor women’s tennis team. Her favorite part about her time at Taylor was meeting her husband Yoshua.

After getting married in March 2012, Kristin made her way to Kansas City to build her business on the west side of the state. Yoshua is in his 3rd year studying in the school of ministry at the International House of Prayer. Together, the couple enjoys spending time with friends and doing anything active outside (with tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, and riding bikes among their favorites!). Kristin was the only person in the history of the St. Louis agency to miss Pacesetter 40 but sell over 100 lives in her 1st year as a rep.

Jeff started his career as an insurance broker with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network 1990. In 1991, Jeff was the leading 1st year Rep, and in 1993, he was the leader among all reps under 4 years. On a national basis he has earned the Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards. He has been a member of the 100 Lives Club and a consistent qualifying member of MDRT.

He currently specializes in the BOLI/COLI market and was the Managing Director of the Lawrence office from 2006 -2013. He is a member of the Association of Advanced Life Underwriters, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Society of Financial Service Professionals and Million Dollar Round Table. Prior to Northwestern Mutual, David was an underwriter for two years and a sales specialist for three.

David has obtained the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU® ) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC® ) designations.  In 1997 he was awarded the Agent Community Service award from Northwestern Mutual.

 Sean has a diverse practice of insurance and investments including asset and income protection, education funding, retirement solutions, investment/advisory services, and delivering comprehensive financial plans.

 Sean achieved his Bronze (1995), Silver (1996) and Gold (1997) Awards, Life Impact Award (2001-2009, 2011), National Quality Award (2001-2010), Rookie of the Year (1996) and New Client Leader (2001).

 After several years of leadership roles, Sean was appointed as Managing Director of RPS Financial Group, Inc. Wichita, in May of 2009. Under his leadership, the office has achieved numerous Company awards including three consecutive years of Growth Awards, the OARS (Outstanding Achievement in Recruiting and Sales) Award (2011), and their internship program was ranked number nine in the company nationwide in 2012.

Originally from Boston, MA, Paul is a 1999 graduate of Davidson College.  While attending Davidson, Paul was a scholarship member of the tennis team.  Immediately following graduation Paul began his career with Northwestern Mutual.

In his first 3 years as a financial representative Paul qualified for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.  In 2003 Paul was the office New FR of the Year.  In addition to his role as a FR, Paul began mentoring and coaching new FR’s as a Field Director and has been a member of the office Leadership Development Group (LEAD) since 2004.  In 2010 Paul qualified for the company’s inaugural Lives Leader’s Summit.

In Jan of 2011, Paul took on a new role becoming Managing Director of RPS Financial Group, Inc’s Leawood, KS office.  In this role, in addition to taking care of his personal clients, Paul is responsible for all aspects of recruiting, training and development of new financial representatives and advisors at the Leawood location.

Paul is a Board member for the Overland Park NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) organization.  He is actively involved with the March of Dimes and enjoys spending time with his wife Lindsey, a stay at home mom and his son Luca.  He also enjoys running and playing tennis

Jeremy Radford began his career with Northwestern Mutual in April of 2013. Previously, he worked as a field agent for a highly regarded fraternal benefit society for 7 years. In that role, he earned designations Fraternal Insurance Counselor (FIC), and Fraternal Insurance Counselor Fellow (FICF). Before his career in financial services, he worked in a management role in a closely held family business. This business dealt with the industry of restoration of fire and water loss contracting.

Jeremy is originally from Raytown, Missouri. Later, he moved to Maryville to attend Northwestern Missouri State University on an Athletic Scholarship for their Nationally Competitive Cheerleading Program. In 1996, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science Secondary Education.

After college, Jeremy moved to Blue Springs, Missouri and married his “high school sweetheart” Jennifer. Together they enjoy spending time with their growing family of 8: 3 boys (Orion, Phoenix, and Griffin) and 3 girls (Azure, Zuri, and one on the way). He is involved in numerous organizations including Boy Scouts of America, America Heritage Girl, Knights of Columbus, Birthright of Kansas City, the Women’s Clinic, and catechetical ministries for youth and adult faith formation.

Kacy is a career changer and is just over 6-months into owning her financial services practice with Northwestern Mutual. Prior to this, she had a successful 12-year marketing management career…with the last five of those years in the financial services industry.

Kacy is married to Dan, a full time stay at home dad and former competitive flair bartender. They have two children. Their daughter, Hudsyn (3.5 years old) has special needs due to a birth injury Their son, Damek, was born 12-12-12 at 12:12pm. Together the family enjoys spending time outdoors walking, running or catching the latest Sporting KC game. A former college athlete at Washburn University, Kacy also enjoys healthy competition and a deep passion for helping others. With this career switch and her personal experience as a parent, she plans to focus on primarily helping special needs families with their long term financial security.

Clint is a graduate of William Jewell College.  At Jewell, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity and a scholar athlete on the Men’s Varsity Tennis Team.

 Before working at Northwestern Mutual, Clint spent time with the Kansas City Brigade and Kansas City Royals in their front office in various roles. Clint was also a part of the 2 year internship program with Northwestern Mutual where he twice achieved Power of 10 and Winter Camp qualifications. In 2008, he was offered a full-time contract and went on to achieve Pacesetter 40 and Second 60 awards which led to an invitation to Fastrack Academy. He has finished 3 times in the Top 100 in the company for New Clients and led the RPS Financial Group Network Office in 2010. Clint has also been a Top 50 Bronze, Gold, and Platinum Company Achiever for the Southern Region years.

Clint enjoys staying active at Life Church in Olathe, participating in various sporting activities, and traveling the states with his wife Danica. He is the proud father of a one-year-old boy named Jasper.

Aaron attended Kansas University and Missouri State University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Finance. In February 2004, he joined Northwestern as a Financial Representative, where he quickly took his first step towards leadership by becoming a College Unit Director in April of 2006. He became a Field Director in March of 2008 and later, a Managing Director of a scratch District Office in Springfield, Missouri in July of 2008. With the success and growth of the district, Aaron was promoted to Chief Development Officer. Most recently, Aaron was appointed the Managing Director of the Kansas City, Missouri District Office.

Aaron has achieved Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum awards and has produced 100 plus lives. In 2011, he achieved the OARS Award and has received the DNO Growth Award 2009 through 2012. In his personal practice Aaron uses a planning platform and primarily specializes in physician and small business owner markets.

He is married to Lindsay and they have 2 children.

Lance Trammell started with Northwestern Mutual in May 2008. He achieved Power of 10 and Target 20 as a College Financial Representative. Lance was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon at the University of Central Missouri where he graduated with a marketing degree. He has since achieved Pacesetter 40 and Pacesetter Second 60, as well as qualifying for the Recognition Dinner 3 times. Lance became a College Unit Director in May of 2011. He has since coached his team to rank in the top 30 of the company and individually coached a top 5 intern. In his practice, Lance works with young professionals, families, and business owners. He resides in Lee’s Summit and works in the Kansas City office.

Brent grew up on a farm in Agency, MO. He attended Northwest Missouri State University while studying International Business. Brent travelled abroad and studied European Studies, Innovations, and Sustainable Development from three Universities throughout Europe. After completion of undergrad studies, Brent completed his MBA in April 2011.

After joining Northwestern Mutual in June of 2011 and completion of P10, Brent went full-time in September of 2011.

Brent has received a number of awards throughout his career as a Financial Representative, including the Runner-Up Rookie of the Year within his Agency, Team Gold Premium Leader for Southern Summer Contest, Life Impact Award, Team Gold Top 10 in the South—Silver Award, and qualification as a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (The Premier Association of Financial Professionals).

Brent looks forward to growing his team into the future with Northwestern Mutual. His team consists of himself and AFR, Tara Bries. In his free time he enjoys the outdoors, boating, and travel.

After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, he and his wife, Amanda, moved to Kansas City to join the RPS Financial Group. Andrew converted to a full-time Financial Representative in July of 2009.

Andrew and Amanda have a 2 year old daughter named Stella and a little baby boy. They currently live on the Country Club Plaza in downtown Kansas City. They enjoy traveling to foreign places and learning about the various cultures the world has to offer.

Andrew has a true passion not only for the Northwestern Mutual but also for helping his clients create and live intentional lifestyles for themselves and their families.

Jared Wirsig began his career with Northwestern Mutual in July of 2003. In October of 2013, Jared was named the Managing Director of a new District Network Office in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Prior to being named Managing Director, Jared served as the Recruiting Field Director in the downtown Kansas City office for 5 years. The majority of his time in that role was spent recruiting, training and developing new and established representatives, as well as maintaining a strong personal practice that works primarily with business owners and physicians. He finished the 2012 Agent year as the #1 Field Director in his category.

Before his time as Recruiting Field Director, Jared served as a College Unit Director for Northwestern Mutual’s Nationally Ranked Top 10 Internship. In addition to his Field Director and College Unit Director awards, he has received many industry awards, including National Quality Award (NQA) 2007-2012, the Life Impact award, and Lives Leader Summit.

Jared is originally from Deepwater, Missouri. He later moved to Springfield, where he graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2003. Jared enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and coaching his son’s competitive baseball team. He is very involved with numerous organizations, including Ozanam Home, the Ozanam Guild, Ronald McDonald House, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Special Olympics. Jared is a part of the Legacy for Parks Foundation and the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce. He currently resides in Lee’s Summit, Missouri with his wife Amy, his daughters Macey and Lily, and their son Jackson.
